Thanks for your SUP Yoga class booking!

All the info you need is here (except your session time / date) so please save this link for reference.

If you need to contact either of us please save our numbers – Caroline 07798 941832, Jen 07843 592363 (some sessions will be just one of us teaching).  We will contact you with the email / mobile provided during the booking process if we need to cancel so please make sure you check your phone / emails on the day especially if weather is uncertain.  

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS:

Please arrive at least 15 mins before the session start time – having allowed plenty of time to park (for those of you not paddling over!) so we can get boards organised and get out on the water & get tethered in good time (in case you were wondering – we will be secure so we don’t float away!).

The location is Mudeford Quay, there is parking on the Quay itself (can pay on Ringo as well as cash, it’s location 1891) but it can be busy at the weekend and especially when the weather is good, so you may need to wait to park. You can also park at Avon Beach (front which will be full if the Quay is busy, or the sunken car park on Avon Run Road behind the Noisy Lobster) and walk across to the Quay in 10 mins or so.

What to Wear & Bring?

Wetsuits are good, especially if it’s not sunny / if there is a bit of a breeze or if you are not keen on cool water immersion – if you have one bring one along just in case and if not and you want one Nick can provide you one for £2.

You may prefer to wear regular fitness clothes – in which case leggings and moisture wicking tops are good, as are rash vests etc. You will get a bit wet even if you don’t fall in fully so normal clothes aren’t great. Wetsuits keep you warm but also less soggy than clothes – although they can be a bit more restrictive. It’s your call and best to come prepared!

I prefer bare feet, but wetsuit shoes are good if you prefer those.

Make sure you bring dry clothes (inc some warm clothes) and a towel and water / snacks for afterwards – you can bring these to the Shoresports van and they can stay there during the session, along with keys, ideally leave all valuables in your car though.

We won’t be taking water etc with us on the boards as there is nowhere to secure them, hydrate well beforehand. There are loos by the fish shop a couple of minutes away. Make sure you apply sunscreen beforehand as needed – but enough in advance that you don’t end up with suncream on your board / hands as that makes things a lot trickier!!

What if the Weather is Bad?

We will only cancel sessions if there is too much wind (it’s pretty sheltered but over 20 knots it’s not possible to run sessions safely or enjoyably) or if there is lightning or very heavy rain, but if light showers we will still go ahead (it’s actually amazing being on the water in the rain!). If we have to cancel then you can transfer this booking to another session or you can be refunded if none are suitable – although please be aware we cannot refund booked sessions for any other reason or transfer them with under 72 h notice. Please be aware we will email and / or text you if a session is cancelled and it may be late notice if it’s on the edge of being OK.   We will contact you with the details provided at the time of booking (hence we ask for a mobile number) if you haven’t left it we will email and if you can’t easily access your email please text us on the day so we can reply to that.

For those who haven’t already attended a session, we have a pre-activity readiness form for you to complete on arrival (download here if preferred: SUP yoga parq) but please let me know by replying to this if you have any injuries or issues we need to be aware of, and if anything comes to mind during the session or you feel like something isn’t good for you to do we can always offer alternatives (including rest!).

I will add all new SUP yoga clients manually to our email list to be informed of future sessions & other news and events, we’ll send an email after your first session, if you don’t want emails after that just use the unsubscribe link at the foot of the email.

There may be photos taken of the sessions, which will be used on our Facebook page or website, usually at a distance to show the general gist of what a SUP yoga class involves, if people are prominently in any photos we will check before posting anywhere, if you prefer not to be in any photos let us know! Most people ask for photos of the sessions – in which case feel free to save the ones we post to our page!
